Katie’s goal as a clinical therapist is to develop a connection with her clients that is necessary for self-growth. This connection is meant to allow clients the space to learn more about themselves through exploring their background and ways they process thoughts and emotions. Katie utilizes a combination of evidence-based treatment modalities to help clients break free from life patterns causing them to feel “stuck”. Katie provides a combination of compassion and accountability to empower clients to implement newer and healthier habits while healing from unresolved emotional pain. Treatment modalities include EMDR Therapy, CBT/DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Psychoanalysis, Interpersonal, Solution-focused and Trauma-informed approaches. Katie earned a Bachelors in Social Work from Ohio University with a minor in Psychology. She then went on to earn her Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University and focused academia on treating clients with mental health and substance use disorders. Katie has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families and has practiced in multiple levels of care from traditional outpatient counseling to inpatient psychiatric crisis care. Katie’s experience mostly involves working with clients that have difficulty coping with symptoms resulting from mood and personality disorders.
