How did you begin your yoga journey? My yoga journey began my freshman year of college. I was going to DePaul university in Chicago. The first month of classes the gym was offering free yoga so I decided to take a few classes. I instantly fell in love with the way it made me feel and decided to get a pass to keep taking classes once the free month ended.
What classes do you teach and how would you describe your teaching style? I was trained in an ashtanga-inspired vinyasa style and sivananda hatha. I like teaching vinyasa the best. I personally practice more of a vinyasa style and I know that feels best for me so I want to share that with my students. In my class, you'll be doing a fair amount of moving and breathing, some good stretching, and a lot of chaturangas.
What inspires you? What inspires me is the fact the you can really get whatever you want from life as long as you put out the right energy and are willing to work for it. One of my favorite quotes is Carpe Diem [sieze the day] Its such an empowering quote and to me reminds me that I can control my day and not the other way around.
Who inspires you? As cheesy as this is, my mom inspires me the most. Her perseverance and unconditional love are just a few of the things about her that inspire me. What do you want your students to take away from your classes? I want my students to leave my class feeling empowered - like they could conquer the world!
