What is an EMDR Intensive?
EMDR Intensive Therapy offers you the opportunity to condense the therapeutic process and progress in a shorten amount of time. Traditionally, therapy is offered in a weekly or biweekly format, and, with EMDR therapy, it takes time to set up and then wrap up a reprocessing session, which can cause progress to be disjointed.
EMDR intensives are concentrated, extended sessions offered in 3-hour, full-day, or multiple-day sessions that allow you to focus on long-lasting healing and improvement. Research has shown EMDR intensives to be effective and efficient, reducing symptoms of PTSD, decreasing adverse client reactions, and duration of treatment.
Our EMDR Intensive therapists are highly trained and experienced in treating complex issues and are Approved Consultants and Certified Therapists in EMDR therapy by EMDRIA. Each therapist is trained in a variety of EMDR protocols as well as complementary modalities, such as Internal Family Systems, Parts Work, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Somatic Processing, and Yoga, which aids in meeting your needs through the healing process.

What are the benefits of EMDR Intensive Therapy?
- A one-day intensive offers 2 months worth of weekly sessions in a single day
- Reduce symptoms in a short amount of time
- Extended, focused time for processing and healing
- More processing occurs during each EMDR Intensive because less time is spent on checking in and reviewing the week
- More focused stabilization and resource development through this structured approach
- Though there is a higher upfront financial and time commitment, EMDR Intensives can reduce the amount of time spent in therapy overall
"I have been in and out of therapy my whole life. I found my 3-hour intensive EMDR session to be powerful and healing. It allowed us time to move from topic to topic and to address things thoroughly. I was able to make some connections and discoveries that I had not been able to make in previous traditional 50-minute therapy sessions. I was not sure what to expect, but the time went by quickly and I left feeling restored. My therapist is a wonderful clinician and I felt safe in her care. Highly recommend!"
